I hate love. It’s overrated. Unless you love animals. Then it’s worth it.
Lovely, young Hannah nominated me for this challenge. And I’m doing it only because I’m a good sport. Otherwise, my blog is for the sole, selfish purpose of talking about myself.
The Challenge: Love in Ten Sentences. Write a love poem in 10 lines, each line with four words each. Every line must contain the word ‘love.’ At the end, include your favorite quote about love, and then nominate others.
Disclaimer: This poem doesn’t necessarily reflect how I feel now or ever. I simply added a twist to turn love upside down on its head. And it’s not my finest poetry {future blog topic}, either, lol.
burns like fire
love sings like songs
love flies like birds
love runs like children
love whistles like wind
love stales like bread
love sours like milk
love lies like deceit
love burns like fire
love breaks like hearts
love weeps like me
I don’t have any favorite love quotes, so this is what you get:
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
As for keeping the challenge going, I nominate the funniest bloggers I know…

“I nominate the funniest bloggers I know” Thanks, I love pressure! Hey, that last sentence was 4 words, maybe I can squeeze it in my poem.

Thanks for the nomination, but oh, argh! I can’t do it. Really. Honest. Can’t, won’t, refuse to, would rather eat liver than.
No, that last one’s a lie. There are limits. But I want to keep a tight focus in my blog, which means not dashing off in other directions, even if it means turning down a nomination. Or a dare. So with all loving thanks, I ain’t going to do it.

Totally get it! I debated, too, but my personality came out in the post and the poem, so I allowed it, ha!
